INTRODUCTION
A study was conducted at the Colorado Quality Research, Inc. in Colorado, USA using broiler chickens, housed under summer heat stress conditions, to determine the potential of Tasco^® to improve productivity and growth performance. 

RESULTS
Tasco^® treatment reduced mortality in all treatments where it was administered. Under heat stress conditions, the addition of Tasco^® in the ration reduced total bird mortality to levels similar to the non heat-stressed groups which received no Tasco^® in the ration. When non-heat stressed animals received Tasco®, mortality was decreased further.
CONCLUSION
Tasco^® treatment reduced mortality in all heat stressed treatments where it was administered. In addition, Tasco^® seemed to be effective in reducing total mortality even under non heat-stress conditions. Reduction in total mortality has large economic benefits for broiler producers. 

Although more research is required, these results indicate that Tasco^® has the potential to provide significant economic return on investment for broiler production.
