Tasco® is a science based product supported by over 20 years of research by Acadian AgriTech™. This research effort continues today with hundreds of thousands of dollars being invested to better understand how to use Tasco® more effectively in animal production systems. Acadian AgriTech™ continues to conduct research, including utilizing the latest molecular biology techniques in our efforts to better understand the mode of action of this unique feed ingredient. Research partners include major Universities and Research Institutions on a global scale. We have numerous publications including peer reviewed journal articles and active research programs underway at a number of prominent research institutions.
Areas of active research include mode of action centering on the prebiotic effects of Tasco® on GI tract microbe balance as well as GI tract health and integrity. Other areas of research include investigation of the direct effects of Tasco® administration on the upregulation and down regulation of important genes involved in immune responses, heat shock (chaperone proteins) and oxidative status. Production based research includes the use of Tasco® to improve the heat stress resistance of beef cattle, dairy cattle and sows. Other research programs involve boosting the immune status of young dairy cattle, pigs and small ruminants in efforts to increase health, productivity and economic returns for livestock producers.
