INTRODUCTION
A Beef Cattle Specialist from Missouri conducted an experiment to evaluate the ability of Tasco® to improve the health of recently delivered beef cattle. These cattle experienced stress associated with transportation, feed yard entry, co-mingling and heat stress.
RESULTS
The addition of Tasco® as a feed additive, in the diet of poor quality, stressed cattle reduced dramatically the number of cattle that were sick and had to be retreated with antibiotics.

Fewer chronics (animals that remained sick and unthrifty) were also observed in cattle supplemented with Tasco®.
CONCLUSION
The results obtained in this trial showed that Tasco® improved health status of stressed steers. It has been found in previous trials that by supplementing Tasco® to steers under stress their immune response and their ability to fight disease is enhanced.
These results have economic implications for the beef cattle industry since health issues and disease are major factors in productivity losses.

Tasco® helps my registered Red Polled heifers to handle easily the stress of showing. I normally feed beet pulp to help my cattle stay on feed while showing. This year I tried Tasco® without feeding the beet pulp. My cattle were on the trailer for 14 hours to Shelbyville, Kentucky. When we pulled into the show, the trailer was still fairly clean and dry. The cattle calmly left the trailer, drank some water and then relaxed. Within an hour we were cleaning up stools. Normally, the cattle are so shrunk out we don’t have to clean the straw until the next day. My teenage daughter ever noticed the difference!
We were awarded reserve champion with one of our heifers despite the distance we traveled. |
